recipes for Lily
As you all know Lily is off to College August 18. She is going to be living in the honors house at Chico State. It is a great space with a large fully equipped kitchen. I am compiling a recipe book and would love any contributions you all could make. Keep in mind, Lily is an aquaterian, that is she is a fish eating vegetarian. Thats all for now.

Love Never Forgets!
See the full "true" story of Christian the lion and the two men who rescued him and later released him in the wilds of Africa. The movie shows their reunion after one year in the wild. Amazing and touching!

After the Tornado - Life is a Gift!
If only all of mankind could learn such valuable lessons as this. Lessons
of instant friendship. Of peace and harmony by way of respect for one
another -- no matter one's color or creed. These animals tell you...
"It's just good to be alive and with others."
Yes, it surely is.
So... Live, love, laugh.
"Life's a Gift... Unwrap It!"

The View Dad Had Everytime He Ate: Reggie
Trisha: My Inheritance
Some People Inherit ... tangible items when their parent dies, I have inherited something more lasting and valuable than money or things. My Dad felt so strongly about things, and was so honest about how he felt and those qualities I carry with me.
The best thing about my Dad is how he made me feel every day as his daughter. He made me feel loved, protected, valued. He made me feel smart, pertinent, welcome and treasured.
He made me feel these things every single time I saw him or talked to him. What an amazing thing to give your child.
I have thought a lot about this gift he gave me and I have spent the last year trying to pass it on to Lily. It has taken some practic
e but is is fun and reaffirming to greet your family each time you see them with all the love and admiration that sometimes gets left unspoken.I had an amazing adult relationship with Dad and now that Lily is 18 and off into the Adult world, I hope to build that same relationship with her. I told her as she graduated this year that our journey was not over just changing and we would always be just as close as ever just like me and my Dad.
Thanks Dad,
love you - Trisha

Trish's 24 hour visit to Loveland
May 30, 2008Trish came to visit after a business trip to Boulder. We didn't waste a bit of the 24 hours she had to spend with us, either! This pic is taken on Aaron's front ramp. We are having a beautiful, wet, and green spring. Thank goodness the tornado destruction was 30 miles away from us. It reminds me that we never know what can happen on any given day, and to make the most of every day we are alive!
love,
Sue

Knight-Dansie-Blaine Meaning and History
Knight: English: status name from Middle English knyghte ‘knight’, Old English cniht ‘boy’, ‘youth’, ‘serving lad’. This word was used as a personal name before the Norman Conquest, and the surname may in part reflect a survival of this. It is also possible that in a few cases it represents a survival of the Old English sense into Middle English, as an occupational name for a domestic servant. In most cases, however, it clearly comes from the more exalted sense that the word achieved in the Middle Ages. In the feudal system introduced by the Normans the word was applied at first to a tenant bound to serve his lord as a mounted soldier. Hence it came to denote a man of some substance, since maintaining horses and armor was an expensive business. As feudal obligations became increasingly converted to monetary payments, the term lost its precise significance and came to denote an honorable estate conferred by the king on men of noble birth who had served him well. Knights in this last sense normally belonged to ancient noble families with distinguished family names of their own, so that the surname is more likely to have been applied to a servant in a knightly house or to someone who had played the part of a knight in a pageant or won the title in some contest of skill.Dansie: English (of Norman origin): habitational name, with fused preposition d(e), for someone from Anizy in
Blaine: From a surname meaning "servant of Blaan". Blaan was a Scottish saint. His feast day is August 11th.

Living a Good Life
"A miracle worker is an artist of the soul. There's no higher art than living a good life. An artist informs the world of that's available behind the masks we all wear. That's what we're all here to do. The reason so many of us are obsessed with becoming stars is because we're not yet starring in our own lives. The cosmic spotlight isn't pointed at you; it radiates from within you. I used to feel like I was waiting for someone to discover me, to "produce" me, like Lana Turner at the drugstore. Ultimately I realized that the person I was waiting for was myself. If we wait for the world's permission to shine, we will never receive it. The ego doesn't give that permission. Only God does, and He has already done so. He has sent you here as His personal representative and is asking you to channel His love into the world. Are you waiting for a more important job? There isn't one." - Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

Update
Matt, Corbin and I are all doing well. Here is a quick update.
Corbin is graduating from Kindergarden at Hillcrest Elementary in Ogden Ut. He had a great year. I can't believe he will be in first grade this fall.
Matt's bicycle shop has had a great start this spring. He pick up Giant bicycles over the winter and they are selling like hotcakes. So if any of you need a bicycle or a repair make sure to give him a call so we can hook you up!
I (finally) graduated from the University of Utah with my Civil Engineering degree. I guess I could not get enough of school because I decided to do my masters as well and will graduate with that next spring. Currently I am working at the Division of Water Resources.
For those of you that don't know. Matt and I are getting married on August 16th at Alta Hills Farm. Invitations will be sent out end of June.
Peace, love and bicycles (or something like that),
Candice, Matt and Corbin
